Outdoor shoot at Whitnall Park

Tim, one of our groups members suggested this topic. We will meet at Whitnall park.

The Goal:
To shoot a fall colors landscape photo using proper technique to ensure optimum image capture. Several images will be captured for the express purpose of creating a high dynamic range photo (including the sky and landscape). The first in a two part series.

Agenda:

1. Meet at approx 8:00am.
2. Tim will give us an overview of equipment that he will be using, the type of images he will be capturing, and his workflow for the shoot. This will be a short discussion.
3. We will shoot for approximatly 90 minutes.

Next month we will be indoors reviewing the post-shoot photoshop work necessary for producing the final images.

7:00 to 7:15 pre-meeting meet and greet to be followed by:

1. Meetup future direction discussion
This will be a discussion regard how the meetup group should be administered, future meeting topics, and potential group photo projects.

2. General Discussion
This will be an open discussion

3. Monthly topic
This months topic will be macro photography. We will review the concepts, setup a demonstration and work through the details of creating an image. The demonstration will utilize a digital camera and a Sigma ring light. As an alternate we will look at lighting the subject with a hot light and potentially an off camera flash.

For our March meetup we are going to demonstrate portrait lighting set ups. This will include setting up the lighting, light metering, why we meter the back ground and foreground differently, and shooting some pictures. So bring your camera in February.

For our December meetup we wil be shooting a colorful still life and following all the steps from camera to printer to see what it takes to arrive at a faithful reproduction on a print. Make sure to bring your camera to join in the shooting and discussion. As always samples of your work are encouraged.

Also as this is our December Meetup, treats are also encouraged. Join us for a fun and interesting night.

For our November Meetup we looked at a couple of ways to profile your monitor and printer so what you see is really what you get. We also reviewed a number of different photo related websites. i will be sending out the list in a seperate mailing to the members.
