For January we plan to go over lights and lighting for home use, both for portraits as well as ebay product photos. There will be some examples of some inexpensive lights as well as some higher end stuff that we will go over.

Bring your shots from Novembers outing at the lakefront. Feel free to post some samples here as well.

If you have ideas for our February Meetup, send them to me and we can discuss them at the November meeting.

For our November meeting we are temporarily changing our venue to Downtown Milwaukee by the lakeshore. The group will be meeting to get night shots of the city and time exposures of the cars on the highway. Should be an opportunity for some great outdoor night shots.

SE THE MEETING LOCATIONS BELOW IN THE NOTES SECTION!!!

From our scout Tim: (also samples from Tim in the photos section)
The location is Mckinley Marina Slip E-P. Drive in and go
> to where the Kite shop is.
> It is down at the end of the road. Park closest to the Kite
> shop. We should all be present by 7pm. It is a bit of a walk -
> but the Marina allows us to meet in a lighted area.
> Suggestions - It is windy. Tripods necessary. It is dark -
> flashlights necessary. Dress warmly as the wind was coming in
> off the lake. Remote shutter triggers are a good idea. Also
> know how to turn on the Long Exposure Noise Reduction on your
> camera.
> Goal of the outing - create a nighttime scenic shot. We scoped
> out the location and it seemed to be the best spot - allowing
> multiple scenes. Recommended lens range - 50mm is good. That's
> what the shots I'll send you were done with. Wider and longer
> would give more creative freedom. The wind will be a big
> factor in our outing - probably 25-30 mph gusts.

For our October meetup we plan to have a live model in the studio and will be recreateing the look of vintage photographs. Should be a good time. Be sure to bring your camera. I have posted an example of the vintage shot we will be working towards at this months meetup on the photo section. We will have Sigrid there to pose for this shot, so make sure you bring your camera. Additionally we will be doing a tutorial on how this effect was completed in photoshop.

Also bring your ideas for future meetups, as well as samples of recent photos you have done.

Now that (hopefully) good weather is with us, and our evenings last longer, weather permitting we are planning on a short field trip to the Pewaukee lakefront to capture some evening sunset scenes.

Look forward to seeing everyone there and don't forget your camera and film or flashcards. If you have one a tripod would be helpful as well.
