TAMRON Show & Tell !!

For April's Meetup, the good folks at Tamron are sending professional photographer, Andre Costantini to do a little show and tell at B&H. Some of Andre's work can be previewed at his web site.
Andre will show us images representing some of the ways he uses Tamron lenses; he will happily field questions, and afterward we will have some time to check out some of Tamron's latest offerings. So bring your SLR or DSLR camera if you are so inclined (and own one) and see if any of their lenses strikes your fancy!

The spanking new Event Space at B&H has proven to be a wonderful room to host these types of Meetups, and David Brommer (B&H's Event Coordinator) has graciously invited us back.

***************************************************************************
Since space is limited, we will be collecting a NON REFUNDABLE $5.00 Reservation Fee IN ADVANCE from each member who responds YES to this event.

If you wish to attend, respond YES to the April Meetup. THEN IMMEDIATELY PAY $5.00 VIA THE PAYPAL LINK.
THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE RESERVATION.

***************************************************************************

This has proven to be the best way to ensure that people who respond yes (thereby taking a space from somebody else) actually do show up.

IF YOU ARE AN ORGANIZER (or assistant) or have a HARDSHIP and wish to attend, DO NOT RESPOND YES. Instead, please send me an email via the link on our pages. We all go through tough times now and then, and we do not wish to exclude you! Also, organizers & assistants are always welcome for free. I just need you to email to avoid an S.R.O. situation.

Looking forward to a fun, educational experience... and don't forget your SLR/DSLR cameras!

Best,
Mike

funny i was thinking about buying a tamron lens , this will be interesting.

Who attended?

    •  It's fantastic to be able to listen to a photographer who's enthusiastic about sharing the techniques and approaches behind their photos. Great presentation.
    •  It's always nice to get new ideas about technique. Also, Andre's approach to composition was well founded, and I think Tamron proved that they make competitive lenses.
    •  Interesting speaker with the minimum amount of sales pitch. That's good.
    •  A little dissappointed that this event was not quite accurately described. There was very little talk about the Tamron lenses and their quality comparisons and lots of talk on the 101's of photographic composition. If I knew it was to be an overview teaching class for beginners, I wouldn't have come.
    •  It was a terrific event. After the last time I attended one of these events I wasn't expecting much but the speaker captured our attention from beginning to end. It was also a great learning experience, like being in a workshop. He showed his work and explained how he got the shots he took from the settings and location and also reminded us of the basics that some of us forgot. In the end he held a question and answer session about .. anything you want to talk about. Definitely looking forward to more of his workshop and looking forward to purchasing Tamron lenses or rather my first Tamron lens. I think it will be worth it.
    •  I enjoyed seeing the potential of the Tamron lenses. Its always good to see the regular members ,hang out, chat and grab a bite to eat after our meeting. I usually enjoy the social aspects of our get togethers.
