P.S. Check out the family pictures on my Flickr site: The set titled Xmas at Matthew's. These are typical examples of the bare bulb strobe technique I've been preaching in my classes, magazine articles and online. These are snapshots, just like anyone would take, except that I am not using on-camera flash. This is a great way to avoid that blown-out-flash-in-the-face look. If you're interested in learning this simple technique, just do a Google on 'bare bulb strobe'. It will lead you to some articles and examples of how to set it up. It takes about 10 minutes to set up. Really simple.
