I'm very passionate about photography, but would never do it for a living because it would take away my freedom to photograph what I want, when I want and how I want. My favourite aspect of photography is actually being out there and doing it.
Ideally they would be on a Sunday morning and would include coffee and possibly lunch. I prefer to wander and shoot whatever strikes my fancy rather than trying a specific style, subject or genre. Downtown is always a good place to meet.
Film: Olympus XA, Mamiya C220 TLR, Holga. Digital: Nikon D300, Canon A570
I guess I would describe what I take as urban landscape and detail. I enjoy street photography, cityscapes and landscapes. My favourite photographers are Eggleston, Martin Parr, Stephen Shore and Lee Friedlander to name a few.

"A number of people do link to their Flickr account so it's totally okay to do that. Other than posting in your profile or in the monthly/event photo folders I don't think there's any other way to store photos on the site...."
"Thank you very much detlef, I appreciate it. I enjoyed your web site and see that you are an accomplished professional with a good eye. Not surprisingly your 'fork' photo really stood out for me :)"

"I have noticed that many members, when joining, say that they would like to meet people with the same interest. This is perfect, because that’s what the Meetup is all about...."
"Paul, I think we agree about HDR for the most part. It's interesting that one of the arguments for it is that it mimics the way humans actually see...."
"In some ways I can see benefits of HDR. It can be used to solve the problem of very wide light levels and when not too invasive it can add some extra life to certain images, if desired...."
"I wasn't able to find a C520 online. Do you mean the C5200 series? Usually colour nature or wildlife images look best on gloss or semi-gloss. My preference is semi-gloss since some glossy papers can produce too much glare...."
