1. Westcoast Railway Museum at Squamish - been there twice, no crowds, too many photo-ops to mention here.

2. Mountain View Wildlife conservation centre (http://www.mtnviewcon...) - I spoke to the rep at the Summerfest meeting and he would consider $10-$15 discount per person (normal cost $30 per person) for a group of 20-25 people

I've been invited by Terry Rea, one of the people who watches over the motorcycle museum at Trev Deeley, to bring our group in to photograph at our hearts content (just need to let him know in advance if we go as a group).

The 13th Annual Fort Langley Cranberry Festival http://www.fortlangle....
October 11th, 2008
9:00AM - 5PM
in the Village of Fort Langley

I posted this as an event last year and the photos submitted by the group were excellent.
They flood the cranberry marshes early in the day and the gorgeous berries float to the top. We could walk around each 'pond' to get as close as we wanted to the fruit and the people working in the fields.
Don't miss a taste of cranberry wine at the Fort Langley Wine Co. beside the fields.

The Village of Fort Langley hosts this annual event featuring cranberry sales, special presentations on the history of the cranberry industry, live music, entertainment, activities, contests and prizes, a scrumptious pancake breakfast, food vendors, a market with dozens of retail vendors, and a canoe regatta on the Bedford Channel.

The festival is a free community event and is attended by approx. 15,000 - 20,000 visitors annually.

Did you know that B.C. is the third largest producer of cranberries in the world? In addition, the Fort Langley Cranberry Festival is the only cranberry festival in BC and one of only three festivals like it in Canada celebrating the cranberry harvest season.

Ideas:
Capilano Suspension Bridge; a photo scavenger hunt to find hidden items in the clues.
Grouse Mountain on a clear day for city views and action shots of the skiers, snowboarders and skaters.
Lighthouse Park for a moody walk in the greenery and scenery across the inlet.
Granville Island is full of interesting quirks and off beat things that beg to be photographed.
Arrival of the cruise ships the first week of April from Pacific Place.

A couple of places I go back to over and over in Richmond are Finn Slough (at the south foot of 4 Road) with it's old, dilapitated buildings and boats (great shots on a foggy morning), and Steveston with all its fishing boats. Early morning at sunrise will get you some great shots at both locations.
