Hi everyone,

I've consolidated all the ideas that have come in for field trip events to this one post. It looks similar to a previous post, but this will supercede the other now as we need to build on this.

If you have more ideas, please post them to this thread and we'll continue to consolidate into this post, so we have one Field Trip list to choose from. Please post discussions in other threads and keep this thread only for posts for consolidation into this main post (meaning, I'm going to delete the replies once I get around to consolidating them into this post :)

Note: Ideas are great and we need them, so please keep them coming. What makes events and field trips happen is ACTION. But that's a scary word, so I won't say it. What I really mean is we need a bit more detail, well a lot more detail, but we can start with a bit more detail. The process is... take an idea and think about it a bit. Where will everyone meet, where will they go, what's the best route? If you can think about what that might look like, then you're ready to make a Field Trip Event Request... go to that board and fill in the detail. By doing this, you are really helping!

Following are ideas sent in to date, sorted into a somewhat logical order :)

The Pitt Lake / Katzie Marsh area is wonderful for both landscape and wildlife photography. It involves a 2 hour trek on completely flat terrain. It is home to several bird species, including ospreys and herons. Here's my gallery from last year (before I got my long tele).

Hi all,

any interest in a trip to Squamish, hike the back side of the Chief? I have done it a couple of times, and while the shots during the hike are nothing to write home about (ppl hiking and some scenery). the ones from the top are great of Howe Sound! lots of macro possibilities too..

Hi Jason,

Where is the best place to see the snowy owls?

Trish
The dyke at the foot of 72nd st in Ladner. There is also a bird of prey rehabilitation centre close by that gives tours every 30 mins.
