Hi Bill,

Your list of outings looks great to me. Have you thought of going out to Ukrainian Village or Elk Island Park? Another idea might be to take Urban landscape pictures of historic buildings, reflections in buildings, etc.

Bill any feedback from the last heritage festival if they used any of our images?

No, I have not heard from them or had any feedback as to whether they will be using our photos. From looking at the website it looks like they are still using 2006 photos. Hopefully we will see some of our photos if they update the site.

I'll likely be contacting the Wendy Carter (festival admin.) within the next month or two as the festival is only 90 some days away. I'll keep you posted.

The Harvest Festival is the special event that we attended at the Ukrainian Village last year. I will definitely be scheduling another meetup this year. I thought it was fantastic. It was one of the most enjoyable days I had last summer.

Elk Island park is a great idea as well. I'll post a thread on it to get some feedback as to what the group would like to do there. There are some long trails and some shorter trails. I've only been to the park a couple time. Getting feedback from those who know the park would be much appreciated.

Events Edmonton has taken a look at out portfolio and they are impressed. They've invited us to provide volunteer photography for the "Taste of Edmonton Festival" along with other festivals.

Thank you to all members who have contributed photos to the site. A great portfolio = more photo opportunities.

We are in the process of working out the details. I'll post more info. soon.

I used to volunteer and take pictures for the Edmonton Fringe Festival. I know they are always looking for more photographers.

You can get some great shots there.

Hi there,

I noticed that you are planning on going to the Devonian Botanical Gardens this summer.

I was just there last week and many of the flowers are not in bloom and my suggestion would be to wait until late june or mid July to visit to be sure there will be plenty to photograph.
