The Fall season, in my opinion is one of the best times of the year to get out and shoot! I feel like there just isn't enough time to cram in every place I want to visit!. Anyway, back a few months ago I secured the pavilion out at Long Hunter State park to have our 1st meetup picnic. I took the the only available Saturday they had left for October, which Im hoping will work to our good so that we can get some of the fall colors!
We will have use of the picnic shelter for the whole day and the photo op's will be endless!!!
The poll results for catering vs. potluck is.............. Potluck. So, we will be getting the dinner part of this together real soon. We are also going to have several photo contest and i would love to hear your ideas on what kind of contest to have. So far we have come up with, FALL, BEST CANDID, FUNNIEST. So, come on and send me your ideas!!!!
I also encourage you all to bring your portfolio's or photo albums to share with everyone.

BRING THE CAMERAS AND THE FAMILY!

We will update this as we go along.

Rhonda, I am pretty sure there is only 1 pavilion at Long Hunter. Believe it's the 1st left after you turn into the park.

Which picnic area are we meeting at?

Went out to the prk today. Kind of cool, so remember to bring jacket. Saw several herons. Great place for shooting. Are we going to have a particular menu, or just bring something. I am now working with a camera and a longer lens. Using film, but at least I can get used to the camera/lens. Hope to see you there.

I just got a panasonic lumix, yeah it is not a pentax or nikkon(mine needs a new shutter cuz I stuck my finger through it trying to load it in the dark) but it takes truly nice photos... maybe by that time I will have mastered it;)

A great time with a great bunch of shutterbugs and the food was excellent also!
    •  It was cold but warmed up nicely once the Sun finally came out. Extra thanks to Dan B for sharing his knowledge of photography and sharing his equipment. Good to see some new faces. Nice trail for enjoying the colors of fall.
    •  The people were very nice. They talked with those there even though they had never met. They gave great tips about doing different things with your camera. I am a very new beginner to taking pictures. I have now managed to take pictures of people without cutting off their heads. Can't wait till the next meetup.
