Blooms Nursery has a butterfly house so we are planning a meeting for Sunday August 5th at 2:00pm. Bring your camera (and laptop in case we decide to extend the meeting to include Photoshop and perhaps work on some of our butterfly shots.)
Let's plan to meet in the parking lot at 2:00pm.
Please let us know if you plan on attending just so we know how many to expect. It is a very small place and if we have a big group, we will not all be able to all go in at the same time. There may be a small charge to get in as well (~$3)

If coming from Nolensville Rd. The nursery is on the right and up on the hill just after going under the large underpass. It's across the street from Weight Watchers. They are open from 12pm-4pm on Sundays.

Cheekwood is open until 8pm on Thursdays for the next couple of months. So we are planning a meeting for next Thursday July 5th 5pm-8pm.
We can meet in the parking lot at the bottom of the hill in front of the mansion. Of course you can go at anytime you want. We just thought it might not be as hot this time of day.

You have voted and here's the deal: The May Meetup will be held at the grounds of the Capitol building in Nashville on May 19th at 7:30pm. This will help to avoid the traffic that may be associated with the concert at Riverfront Park over the weekend and may even allow for some fireworks shots later, assuming there will be fireworks associated with the concert.

It may be in your best interest to park at Bicentennial Park and walk up the hill if there is too much traffic/too few parking spots around the capitol. This also allows for some great shots of the skyline and steps to the capitol.

Please remember to use your best judgment when it comes to shooting pics of people you don't know ;) When in doubt, ask permission!

I will not be able to make this meetup due to a wedding but I will be very jealous of those of you who will. Please let the rest of us know how it goes!

Let's do Cheekwood! We'll meet in front of the Cheekwood Mansion itself from 10 - 10:30am - we will all wait but after 10:30 you're on your own ;) There is a new display/presentation that opens Saturday so we could be all over that. Here's the link:

March 17 Extra-ordinary Earth Art
Celebrate Earth Day and the opening of Material Terrain by molding your own paper mache Earth. Examine the unusual and extraordinary pieces of the new exhibit and give your own sculpture a different twist!

I would anticipate the meet lasting between 3 and 4 hours but you can stay and shoot on for as long as you like ;)

Our initial plan is to hold our January meetup downtown again. This time we would like to get into a bit of night shooting near the Gateway and Shelby Street bridges so the best place to meet would seem to be Big River Brewery on the corner of Broadway and 2nd Avenue.

Bring your tripods so we can get in some great evening shots :)
