You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Bledsoe Creek State Park has abundant wildlife, including deer, ducks, heron, birds, squirrels, etc. Streams, lake, trails, playgrounds, camp sites, and boat ramps. A few of us went this weekend and had a great time. Large enough for everyone to spread out and shoot all they want. Foliage is beautiful in the fall, and we (Alane, Patrick, Dan, Mike) thought this would be a great place for the October Meetup. It is located 10 minutes from Gallatin. If you would like to see sample photos, I have a Bledsoe album on my Facebook profile. Thanks for considering it!
I just saw the Lost Sea Adventure site, between Knoxville and Chattanooga: America?s Largest Underground Lake. They offer boat ride and wild cave tours: Those who participate in the tour are treated to a regular cavern tour as well as an exciting tour into the undeveloped cave rooms where one crawls through cracks, crevices, nooks, and crannies. On this tour, guides point out many striking formations such as anthodites (cave flowers), which are so rare that the Lost Sea contains 50% of the world's known formations. Also, visitors view rooms where ancient jaguar roamed, moonshine was made, and saltpeter was mined for gunpowder by Confederate soldiers.
For the Cave tour, it requires twelve (12) participants and reservations quite in advance, at least 2 weeks, check the web:http://www.thelostsea.com/cavetour.html
Tellico Lake is closed and it's also a good place to make beautiful pictures.
I have been to this for the past few years and it always proves to be a good time...I have never taken a camera, but shots would be abundant. October 24th is the day....
Jeremy Cowart has gotten people together from around the nation to participate in this one day project. I am already signed up, they can use anyone and everyone's help.
Here is the website.
