For those of you that are interested in exploring the Natchez Trace, we will be meeting at the Bridge (double arches) this Saturday morning around 10AM. From there it will be just a matter of getting in the car and driving and stopping at whatever catches our eye. Sorry there isn't much of a plan here. I have only been on the NT once and only at the bridge, so it's kind of hard to put times and places to stop on a schedule.
I've heard that the NT is the place to be when the leaves start turning. So, if anything, maybe we can scout out some "MUST SHOOT" fall locations and return again in a few weeks when the color is good.

There is also a Heritage Festival going on in Leipers Fork this Saturday. Thinking we will make our way of there sometime that day. Here is a link leipersfork. Just click on the "events" to read more about it.

Directions to the NT bridge ??? well, thats a good question. I couldn't find an actual address to give you. But Im taking 40 West to McCroy Lane. Turning right and then..........following signs from there. If anyone else has better directions, you can post them on the message board.

Let me know if you are planning on joining us there.

I am a maybe on joining you tomorrow. I'll call you and let you know for sure.

I live in the area. Here are a bit more directions, when McCrory Lane meets Hwy 100, turn right. There will be a light and McCrory dead ends. After you make the right turn, Immediately to your right you will see the entrance to Natchez Trace. Loveless Cafe is next to this intersection if you turn left.

Hi Folks
This sounds like a fun trip. If the weather cooperates my sister and I will meet up with you at the bridge. I have been on the Trace twice. Quite a nice place to ride on. I have seen small herds of deer, turkey vultures, hawks, quite a few wild turkeys. So till then.

Great drive to the trace. Wish we could have seen more. But we know next time to pack lunches and plenty to drink.

Great day for the trip. Got some good pics. We got separated from the group. Found out the restaurant did not open till 4 PM. We made our way to Columbia to have lunch. Saw LOTS of turkeys on the way back. Saw a heron on an island in the river but no place to stop. That is the only bad thing to say, not enough places to stop. Also, I agree with bringing water and food. Lots of places to pull off and eat, just no place to get the food.

Hope the weather for the picnic is as good as it was today. Great group.
