About The Westchester Click

The Westchester Click is a group of dedicated photography enthusiasts. This group is focused on growing in photography through sharing knowledge and experience among all of our fellow members. We believe that no one person knows all and we benefit from the unique different perspectives, techniques and points of view that our members bring to the group.

As a member of our group, you will notice a lot of work goes into this and there are no fees or dues. We only ask that you remain an active participant throughout your stay with us. There are many groups with over 100 members, but they have only a few who participate. We would rather have a small group of actively participating members than a large group with little participation.

Below is listing of key points of this group:

  • Free membership. To maintain you membership, active participation at meetings and on the message boards is required. This requirement refers to the meetings and/or message boards. Just going to events does not make you an active member. Events are a benefit for active members.

  • Meeting places: Our Monthly (Sometimes Bi-Monthly) Meetups are located in Westchester. We absolutely welcome members from anywhere, so please keep in mind that for these meetups, you may have to travel. Most of our shoots are not centralized in Westchester, but in a wide variety of locations.

  • Meetings: Our meetings feature an open format. We use the meetings to discuss future ideas for the group, conduct critiques, share ideas and new found information, and distribute informative articles. We hold a magazine exchange program - read them and pass them on. These meetings are very informative and allow you to cultivate friendships and collaborate with like minded people. Bring your laptop and share.

  • Events: Our events have no limitations. In the short time we have been around, some of our past events have included:

    -Bear mountain Trails shoot
    -The Cherry Blossom Festival
    -Holyland (Abandoned site in CT)
-Night time shoot of Light Trails
    -Museum Visits/shoots
    -NYC walking shoots
    - Art Openings
    -Photography Seminars & Classes
    -Rockland Irish Feis Festival
    -Mid Hudson balloon Festival
    -Photoshop Seminars
    - New events ALWAYS in the works!

  • Meet up on your own events. These are geared toward the people who prefer to go out on their own, rather than with a group.

  • Critiques: These are open to everyone and are held live at our meeting and on our message board. It is up to you to decide which platform works best for you. Our critiques are extensive and we make sure to hit all of the image's key points to give you deeper insight to your photographs.

  • Exercises: Every week, we will post exercises in photography as well as in Photoshop. These are not competitive exercises at all. They are a great way to get you thinking and challenge yourself.

  • RSVP: It is very important to RSVP for events and revise them if your plans change. This allows for an accurate headcount and we will know who to look or wait for. Please follow this request.

  • Your Profile: We require that you post a photo of yourself in your profile. This allows us to recognize you at meetings, etc. Also, we require the entire profile questionnaire to be completed before being admitted into the group. We do this to be sure we have genuine, truly interested members.

  • Your Photos: We would like to see your accomplishments and personal photo albums will be created for all members upon request. Empty albums will be deleted after two weeks.

  • Your Membership: Your group membership is primarily dependent on your active participation within the group. If you become inactive for a period of 2 weeks, you will receive an email inquiry. If you decide you no longer want to be a member, kindly remove yourself from the group. If there is some cause for your inactivity, please address this with one of the group organizers to maintain your membership status. If there is no reply to the email inquiry, your account will be deleted. You are welcome to rejoin when you can participate again.

  • Respect: Please respect all members and refrain from posting inappropriate/revealing photographs or messaging in an inappropriate /rude manner. Artistic nudes are permitted, along with any other photographs done in an artistic manner. Please use your discretion on this matter.

We encourage social gatherings where the only agenda is fun, to spend time getting to know your fellow members and to create friendships. Feel free to organize and post these on your own.

Most importantly, let's have FUN!

We look forward to shooting with you in the near future.

Thanks for your interest,

Your Organizers,
Mark, Melissa, and Len
