Hi Everyone!
Today at lunch, I went to Highlands Scrub, in Pompano. There's not much there. But, I talked to a Broward county worker there that mentioned a family of foxes with 2 cubs were at Cystal Lake Park in Pompano. And, he also mentioned, at Woodmount in Tamarac, there are hooting owls and large woodpeckers. If anyone is interested in checking these out with me, let me know!

I went to Woodmont Nature Area ...... it's quaint with a nice walk through ...... went at noon time and took a few shots of some birds and butterfly's. It's a stop over at best and I'm going to check it out at 5ish today to see if there is more activity there. I would love to see the hooting owls and the large woodpeckers there..... hopefully it will be more active than going at noon time.

just to let you know........ went back to Woodmont Nature area at 5pm till 6pm and there wasn't too much a
activity..... at least it was very hard to find anything but here are some shots I took there at 5-6PM:

It's not easy finding these little birds....... and I still couldn't see any owls or woodpeckers!

Hey Annette,
I'm very interested in checking out the foxes. I'm dying to get a good shot of one and if this little group has cubs, how great would that be. I know it would have to be either a dawn or dusk excursion, as foxes are more active at during these hours. We would probably have to go as soon as the park opens or right before it closes. I'm typically available on Sundays and would love to join you. Just let me know, I think Lita would also be interested. Thanks Annette.

I will be out of town from May 4-10, I'll be in Sayulita, Mexico (pacific coast--can't wait). So if possible maybe we can head over there this weekend or next. Thanks again

Hi All,

Ivan, thanks for your update on Woodmount Park. I haven't seen the Broward County worker since you've been to the park. But, if I do see him, I'll try to get him to pin point locations of the last sitings.

Marlon, I went out to Crystal Lake Park Tuesday at lunch, the absolutely wrong time of the day to do it. But, I did see the Broward County worker and I asked him where to find the foxes. Well, (always a story), there was a fire at the park on Friday. The area near the foxes had burned. Tuesday was the first day he had been back to the park and he did not see them on Tuesday morning. I did walk back to the general area and saw where the fire was, but I wasn't dressed properly and didn't have the time to look too many places for the foxes. But, I'd be willing to go check it out again with you and Lita. I'm free both Sunday morning and Sunday evening. The park is open 8:00am to 6:00pm, not exactly dawn and dusk, but what can you do? It's not a real big park and not alot of things to take photos of, except that darn Lita will probably find something to shoot and make it look all wonderful. She's sickening like that. :) Let me know what you think!

Hey Annette,

Yeah I think we should give this a shot. If you know the name of the worker maybe you can give him a ring or swing by (it sounds like its close to your job) and check to see if the foxes have been spotted since the fire. I'm sure they haven't run off somewhere, I'm sure maybe they just relocated to another region of the park. I don't think they will leave the sanctuary of the park and their food source. My number is 305-491-4395. Have you spoken to Lita??? I haven't but I'll shoot her am email today. Talk to you soon
