About Swimsuit Photography Shoot

Meet local professional models, and photographers at this monthly meetup and shootout.
Improve your portfolio and meet up to 12 area photographers at every event.

Here is a chance to learn and improve with real photographers who may end up hiring you!

Discuss the biz, share info, and network with one another. Photographers, make-up artists, and agents are all welcome!

Our meetups begin with a shootout and ends in a social hangout so we can meet each other.

The cost is only $35 per photographer which usually includes a social networking group after.

This is an amazing opportunity for both models and photographers to improve and network in a fun live environment.

First and foremost this is meant to be fun, educational and all around beneficial.

Questions and Answers:

Q) Is there a cost to come to the MeetUps?
$35 for photographers - shoot different models in one session.

Q) Will there be at least one shoot every month?
A - In general, we will have a monthly "shootout" with 4 to 6 models depending on number of photographers registered. The group is open to new photographers each month but all photographers are expected to be respectful and add to the positive environment we are trying to create. Any photographer or model in attendance may spin-off the main area during a shootout or arrange to meet and shoot individually later.

Q) Will there be photography workshops, to teach me lighting techniques, etc.?
A - In due time, as it is summer we will take advantage of the daylight and shoot in different locations.

Q) I'm a photographer, and I want to learn how to become a pro, get sponsors to give me cool gear for free (ha ha), etc... will I meet people who can help me with this?
A - These meetups will introduce you to other members of the photography industry some will be pros. willing to help you progress in this field. Others will give advise. We will look at having a stylist at the location who can help you with composition. Networking is the essence of any freelance business, especially photography and modeling. We also have the opportunity to hag out after for an hour or so; those who have a lap-top can show off their work, lots of talking, great advice, constructive criticism etc. It will be a fun end to an exciting day.

Q) As an intermediate/semi-pro photographer, I'd like some honest feedback on my work, from experienced professionals. I'm sick of people telling me, "It's good." I want some constructive criticism, so I can really improve.
A - Great! Every member is encouraged to bring a portfolio or some photos to every shootup in order to get honest, constructive, and thoughtful criticism from other members of the MeetUp.

Q) Will we shoot in a studio?
A - We have shot in various studios around town and in-door locations.

Q) Will the meetup fee be the same every month?
A - This will depend on the models; I represent a lot of models around the country including some well known Maxim and Playboy models. We can talk about who you would like to shoot after a few sessions. Obviously these models are more expensive so we will see. Obviously if there is a several photographers shooting at a shoot with a model from out of town then their model fee will be reasonable... In general the fee will remain the same.

Q) Will I get a refund if I miss my shootup?
A- If you cancel/can't make the shoot let me know immediately. Your payment session is open for 3 shoots after you pay - based on space availability. My models are paid for their time and I book models according to photographer numbers, if you miss a session I still have to pay the model. Please do not ask for a refund if you can not fit us into your schedule after you miss your assigned shoot. If I cancel the shoot obviously I will re-arrange for the next day or available time-usually within 10 days; but I will re-arrange.

When you email me to sign up for this event, please list which camera you are using and what you would expect from a meetup like this. PLEASE know this is a professional meetup; photographers should have 35mm or digital SLR cameras. Point & shoot cameras are not appropriate for our shootups.
