Introduction
It's a pleasure to be here, and I look forward to contributing. Best wishes... Richard Beebe Tracy, Cali
My all-time favorite shot (so far)...

IF... I had to pick just one, it'd be my avatar pic...and I didn't even take the photo! But, I love the feeling it conveys of who I am and who's important.

My photography style could be defined as...

"personally impressionistic" (my interests and camera experience are wide-ranging: landscapes, nature, cityscapes, portraits, figure; minimally-edited at times, other times highly manipulated and interpretative of the moment I found.)

I first fell in love with photography...

FIRST? ...probably looking through an Arizona Highways, a WWII Navy picture-book of the Pacific, or some photo by Ansel Adams.

My experience includes...

styles - nature and landscapes, cityscapes. night photography, expressive portraits, figure. background - semi-pro for 25 yrs (studio, weddings/receptions, events, location set-ups), instructor (in classroom, field/location, workshops)

My gear includes...

Pentax K10D dSLR, Sony F707 digital, Pentax K1000 & MX 35mm film SLRs, Bronica 6x6cm film SLR

  •  Well Richard I water-skied in Mono Lake before we even KNEW there were tufas there ;-) My family started taking me to June Lake for the 1st 2 weeks of Aug every year and we watched the Persiods meteor showers for years..... Then came back as an adult with the appreciation of a photographer and the love affair started all over again ;-) I have one negative of a parking sign in JL with a 72 hour parking limit ;-) My avatar was made before the State bought Bodie.

  •  Thanks for the welcome, Richard. Yeah, rangefinders are close to my heart. Had a Mamiya 6x6, but wasn't able to do much with it. 35mm is more fun.
