Hi everyone,

I want to toss out some possible future Meetup locations for discussion purposes.

1) Wa'ahila Ridge Trail - It's' a very scenic hike with views into both Manoa & Palolo valleys.

2) Palisades Trail - Relatively easy hike. Absolutely beautiful scenery.

3) Battleship Missouri - I've never been, and it would provide a reason to visit.

4) Pacific Aviation Museum - Same as above.

5) Ewa to Honolulu boat shuttle or vice versa - If you aren't prone to seasickness, great
photo opportunity of Oahu's shoreline.

6) Chinatown - This one is personally fascinating.

7) Diamond Head - It's been a while but I remember the view as being spectacular.

8) Round Top Drive - We'd have to drive it...but there are lots of scenic lookout points.

Thank you, Stanley, for your suggestions.

I forgot about the Ewa-Honolulu boat bus service. I think Matthew and I talked about it months ago. Maybe we can do that one sometime this summer as I think we initially talked about it during the winter months, and thought it would be better for the summer months when the seas aren't quite as rough. Thanks for that reminder !

As for the hikes, thanks for those suggestions as well. We've in the past usually tried to spread the hikes out so there were no more than one a month as we really didn't want this organization to turn into a hiking club but rather have our focus on photography. We try to keep the "hotter" locations like Kaena Point and Diamond Head for the winter months when it is a little cooler, and keep the "foresty" hikes for the summer months when the ground isn't as wet and muddy. If the group as a whole wants more hikes, we can definitely incorporate that into our calendar but we will still have other activities so that people of all physical levels feel welcome to join our events.

For Chinatown, February is a good month as there are usually lots of activities going on for New Year celebrations but we've had a lot of new members join since our last visit to Chinatown so maybe we can revisit it.

Thanks for your ideas. We appreciate them as it helps Len and me when we look for different events to put on the calendar. It also lets us know what types of activities the group wants.

We know there is a want for more "sports" photo opportunities, so we're keeping an eye for possibilities.

Also, I've been wanting to plan a Photo Scavenger Hunt. If anyone knows how a photo scavenger hunt is done or have any suggestions, please send me an email. Thank you !

Moina, the background information was appreciated.

I have no personal knowledge of what a photo scavenger hunt would entail, but I suspect that it would mean setting up teams (or individually) to get photographs of specific items during a predetermined time period.

Moina and Len,
I know its last min. and there is already a meetup scheduled for Sat. the state fair is going to be happening at Aloha Stadium that evening and night. Should be a good photo op. I'll be there with my family any how.

I was thinking about this the other day while in the car. Should be pretty easy. Assemble teams and create a list. Although I don't know if it would be fair to have the list makers in on the action. To make it even more interesting would be to have the clues in the form of riddles. Also you would have to specify a time frame whether that would be a couple of hours or over the span of a weekend. In the end you can make it into a dinner party or pot luck and then see who wins. Pretty much the skies the limit.

How to Devise a Scavenger Hunt for Adults

Also another idea would be art events like First Friday or Art After Dark (although I keep missing AAD cause I always keep thinking it's the last Saturday of the month.)

Another idea I just had was with utilizing the polls. When faced with multiple ideas for meet ups, polls could be used for each month or for big events.
