In support of this May's photo contest theme, "FLOWERS: LEI DAY IS MAY DAY IN HAWAII" let's head out to Waimea Valley in Haleiwa to check out the botanical garden there.
The valley is now owned by OHA, and they are in the process of building a website, but here is an outdated link to an outdated website that will show you a few pictures of the valley. Disregard park information on this outdated website:

The park is open from 9:00 - 5:00, and plan on this outing being an all day affair. We'll all meet at the park entrance at 9:00 a.m.

Admission Fee is $6 for Kamaainas ($10 for non-residents). Remember, this admission is in addition to the $1 meetup fee that will be collected by the organizer.
Bring macro lenses, tripods, lunch/ snacks, and good walking shoes. It should be a fun day !
