Who organized?

Meet in the Blandy Farms library and we'll carpool to the site - Thompson Wildlife Management Area near Linden, Va. This meeting will have Marion Lobstein as a leader. She is a Professor of Botany with Northern Virginia Community College.

Wear good hiking boots. bring something to drink and be prepared for at least a 2 mile hike up and down hills.
We will be a somewhat of a high elevation and it can be somewhat cooler, bring a jacket.
A macro lens would be a plus, but not necessary.

Too bad I have to work on that day (at the same college where Marion teaches). Marion is a true expert with many honors and awards in her field. So, enjoy!

Who attended?

    •  Absolutely beautiful wildlife refuge particularly in the Spring with so many wildflowers blooming and the millions of trilliums. Peaceful and unpopulated except for photographers and an occasional thru-hiker.

This was a great day for shooting. The trilliums where perfect, some where white others changing to pink. Leslie and I went and two others Chet and Ellen from our photo club joined us. We started with the Blandy group but soon broke off on our own. It did start raining just before we left so off the lunch at the local eatery and then to the Linden Winery for the afternoon. Got some good pictures at the winery as well.
