I want to take this opportunity to welcome everyone who has joined this Meet Up Group.
Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 13 at the Crossroads Cafe in San Francisco at 7 pm. This is no charge to attend. I hope that everyone will be able to attend so that we can have your help in planning future events. Also feel free to invite friends to attend including models. They do not have to be a member of this group to attend - everyone is welcome. If anyone has a laptop that they could bring to the meeting please let me know. I am also looking for someone who does websites to help me with a site I am developing for images from workshops and classes. Let me know if you are able to help in this area. We can discuss compensation at the meeting. Look forward to seeing everyone on May 13. Edward Woods Organizer Edited by Edward Woods on May 6, 2008 10:07 AM |

Hi Edward,
I think what you are doing is great.. there are all kinds of life figure drawing classes that I have inquired about and they say no to photographers! I am a web designer and could help, but I am low income and partially disabled and can't afford to do pro-bono work. If you think there's a sliding scale we could work out let me know if you are interested in talking further. regards, mark

Mark:
I hope that you will be able to attend our next Meetup Get Together on Tuesday, June 10. A website where people can post images would be a great thing to do. I also have some ideas for new events that we can discuss. The meeting on May 13 went well and I think was informative for all. One more thing - I am looking for people who have special skills and would be interested in doing a brief lecture or demonstration. Perhaps someone can share advice on composition for example or lighting techniques. I am hoping that these meetings can become much more interesting and sharing is a big part of that. Please invite friends that you think might be interested in attending. And don't forget to bring some prints to the meeting to show us your work. Edward Woods |
