Hi everyone. We just moved to the area, therefore I'm still learning about it. Does anyone have any ideas on nice outdoor areas to take photo shoots of kids, families, newborns, etc. There were some beautiful parks and gardens where we used to live before, so I'm looking for something similar.
Also, does anyone have a good recommendation for a photographer who takes maternity shots. Wish I could take them myself, but just not feasible... Thanks. D~ |

A nice day trip for you would be Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. They have beautiful gardens. There is an entrance fee and you have to get a permit for a tripod if you plan to use one. I also like to go to Tyler Arboretum in Media, PA - another short day trip for you. Right now they have a "Totally Terrific Treehouse" exhibit. Ridley Creek State Park is next to Tyler Arboretum and it's free. They have a 5 mile loop walking/bicycle trail which winds along Ridley Creek and through fields and woods.

Thanks for your suggestions. Anything local to Cherry Hill, Voorhees? Not sure if I want to trek out an hour or more for a photo shoot at this point.
Thanks! |

Try Smithville State Park. Its right off Rt 38 just outside Mount Holly. There are some very cool old buildings and old red brick walls that make great backgrounds. There is also a small formal garden by the old mansion. I've been there several times and never disappointed.

My favorite route is the abandoned railroad (what's left of it) running from fox chase to newtown. A couple of old bridges, gorgeous scenery in spring and fall, and a bunch of other good things. If anyone wants to check it out I'll gladly show around.
