Let's have a Christmas party! I've been to Alibi (alibi.ca) a few times now and I like it for the extensive number of beers on tap, wholesome food, and minimal decor. It's a great place to hang with friends and have a pint or two. :) I hope you can all come and join me and reminisce about all the fun things we've done together this past year. And maybe start making plans for the next year! :) Greg.

Normally VEP concerns itself with photography, but this free concert is too good to not pass along. And as a bonus the Chan Centre is a breathtaking space -- a feast for not only the ears, but the eyes. The instrumental chamber ensembles at UBC perform in small groups of approximately three to eight members. These musicians have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of pieces from baroque, classical and romantic to modern pieces suitable for small ensembles. These ensembles perform a variety of pieces from madrigals, motets and cantatas to contemporary pieces. Tickets will only be issued from the Chan Centre Ticket Office on the day of the performance beginning at noon. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. Let's have a regular meeting, where we get together and show some prints. That'll be nice. We are meeting at VPW. We can spend most of the time looking at the prints on the walls. You can still bring new prints if you don't have any prints on the wall, or if simply want to show some new work. The format for the 7-9pm "critique" will be the same as the previous meetings. People can bring half a dozen or so prints and we'll go around the table and talk about them. Laptops are also fine, but you should spend some time before the meeting to select the photos you want to show. We can also talk a bit about editing techniques, gear, and local events. After months of effort VEP's first exhibition is finally here! VEP has always done things a little differently, so come join us to see what a largely self-organized photography exhibition looks like. The show includes a wide variety of work representing our members' desires to stretch themselves creatively in the realms of subject, shooting style, and technique. There will be excellent photos in many different genres including long exposures, street photography, moody B&W's, abstracts, nudes, and more. Many of the photographers will be in attendance and are happy to chat about the creative process behind their photos. I hope you can all come Friday evening and share this experience with me. :)

This framing meeting serves two different purposes: 1) If you ordered frames and haven't picked them up yet, you can come here and get them.
2) If you need help assembling your print, mat, and frame, we'll show you. Friendly reminder, this day is the last day to submit your wall label information (your name, title of photo, date of photo, type of print, price/Not For Sale). If you have any questions please send me a message.

Note: You may only sign up for *one* Selection Meeting. Also, if you sign up for a Selection Meeting and miss it then you may not be able to show your work in the exhibitions. Bring at least three prints you wish to be considered for the show. If you bring fewer than three, your work will not be considered. Bring final prints only -- the print that gets selected will be the same one that gets framed and shown. Since the frames we're ordering are 18x24" in size, your print should be approximately 12x18" in size. The actual size of your print can vary.
